Please read these terms carefully before using TutorHut.
Welcome to TutorHut. By accessing or using our platform at tutorhut.co.uk (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our Platform.
TutorHut is an online marketplace that connects students with independently verified tutors across a range of subjects and academic levels. We facilitate introductions between students and tutors; we are not a party to any tuition arrangement entered into between them.
You must be at least 16 years old to register as a student or tutor. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use this Platform and to enter into any arrangements facilitated by it.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Student accounts are free. Students can browse tutors, submit connection requests, and access tutor contact details following payment of an introduction fee.
Tutors must complete our registration and verification process before being listed on the Platform. TutorHut reserves the right to approve, reject, or suspend any tutor application at our absolute discretion. Tutors must provide accurate professional information and valid verification documents where requested.
We manually review each tutor application. Verification may include identity checks, qualification review, and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate checks. A verified badge on a tutor's profile indicates only that our team has reviewed the documentation provided; it does not constitute a guarantee of a tutor's suitability for any particular student.
When a student's connection request is approved and they wish to access a tutor's contact details, a one-time introduction fee is payable. The fee amount is displayed clearly before payment. Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
Following receipt of the introduction fee, funds are held for 72 hours before being released to the tutor's connected bank account via Stripe Connect. This hold period protects both parties.
Introduction fees are non-refundable once a tutor's contact details have been disclosed to the student, except where required by applicable law or where TutorHut determines a refund is warranted at its sole discretion. To request a refund, contact us at support@tutorhut.co.uk within 48 hours of payment.
Tutor hourly rates are set by tutors themselves and are indicative only. TutorHut is not responsible for any fee arrangements agreed directly between students and tutors.
You agree not to:
Students may submit reviews of tutors following a completed and paid introduction. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. TutorHut moderates reviews and reserves the right to remove any review that violates these Terms or our community guidelines, without notice.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our express written permission.
Our Platform uses third-party services including Google Firebase (authentication and data storage), Stripe (payment processing), and Google Drive (document storage). Use of these services is also subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. TutorHut makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the availability, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of the Platform or any tutor listed on it. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TutorHut shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the introduction fee you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TutorHut and its team members from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
TutorHut reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account, at any time and without notice, where we reasonably believe a user has breached these Terms or where we deem it necessary to protect the Platform or other users. Tutors whose accounts are suspended or terminated forfeit any pending introductions.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
